Potholes and fan palms
The limestone rock has created an exotic landscape, full of karst formations –potholes, sinkholes and fissured rocks–. It has its own particular vegetation, of which the best known species is the Mediterranean fan palm. Vine huts and dry-stone walls, hard to see among the white rocks, surround the old farmhouses and some of the small hamlets to be found on the lonely stretches inside the reserve. |
