PASIFAE
Poseidon, the god of the sea, sent a white bull to King Minos of Crete, to be sacrificed in his honour.
But Minos did not perform the sacrifice and Poseidon became angry. The god took his revenge by making Minos' wife Pasifae fall madly in love with the white bull.
Following the queen's orders, Dedalus (who was the best known engineer of that time) made a wooden cow and Pasifae hid inside it.
In this way Pasifae was able to satisfy her love for the white bull. As a result of this union, she gave birth to the Minotaur.
The Minotaur terrorized all the peoples of the Mediterranean until it was killed by Theseus of Athens.
