Vilanova i la Geltrú offers a wide range of commercial activities some of which take place on a national or international level.
Fresh fish and freshly-picked fruits and vegetables are brought in daily to the municipal markets.
The town has a wide range of shops selling a great variety of products. Clients are treated in a friendly, helpful way that guarantees their total satisfaction.
All of this is close to home in the biggest urban open-air shopping centre, where you can enjoy shopping and leisure activities in pleasant surroundings, where shops alternate with buildings representing the architectural and cultural heritage of a town with more than a thousand years of history: Vilanova i la Geltrú.

| MERCAT DEL CENTRE |
This market was founded in 1941 right in the centre of town.
It has undergone various phases of remodelling work and re-habilitation to adapt it to new consumer needs. The latest improvements to the building were completed in1999. They provide the town and surrounding region with a market that is prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century, with 78 stalls and 200 people to provide fresh products of all kinds straight from the market gardens and the sea. |

| MERCAT DE MAR |
The Mercat de Mar (sea market) was opened in 1982 in one of the most attractive parts of the maritime district, near L'església square and the local high street.
It has undergone various phases of remodelling work and re-habilitation to adapt it to new consumer needs. The latest improvements were finished in 2002, giving the maritime district a modern market with a human dimension, that is able to face the challenges of the 21st century. It has 15 stalls and more than 40 people working to provide their customers with fresh products of all kinds that have just been brought in from the market gardens and the sea. |
